Financial Assistance for Assisted Living in Tucson

Applying for Medicaid can be a daunting task that requires a lot of paperwork and can take months or even years.

At the Care Bridge Foundation, we understand how challenging this process can be. That’s why we’re proud to offer financial assistance to, and advocacy for, those who are waiting for their Medicaid application to be approved.

Welcome to Carebridge

Carebridge is a non-profit dedicated to serving an underserved population with compassionate, practical solutions. We complete ALTCS (Arizona Long-Term Care System) applications and provide financial bridging to cover assisted living costs during the application process. Our mobile provider service brings skilled Providers directly to homebound individuals, offering insurance-covered house calls that include transitional care management, primary care, telehealth, home health supervision, and acute care management.

Why We Exist

Many in our community face significant barriers to healthcare, often resorting to 911 calls and hospital visits as their only means of accessing care. These individuals are also challenging to discharge from acute care settings due to limited support systems. At Carebridge, we bridge these gaps, delivering essential care and support to those who need it most, right where they are.

What Is Medicaid?

Medicaid is a state and federal program that provides health coverage to low-income individuals and families. In order to be eligible for Medicaid, you must meet certain income and asset requirements.

If you are over the age of 65 or have a disability, you may be eligible for coverage. There are many benefits to applying for Medicaid, including:

Access to quality health care

Coverage of long-term care costs

Peace of mind knowing that you or your loved one will be taken care of in the future

How do I know if I’m eligible for Medicaid?

Arizona’s Medicaid insurance program for long term care and medical expenses is known as the Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS). ALTCS is intended for the aging and/or disabled who cannot afford their long term care and also helps community spouses—a term referring to the spouse of an ALTCS applicant—avoid complete impoverishment

income requirement

Check Your Income Requirements

To be eligible for ALTCS, you must first meet the program’s income requirements. In the state of Arizona, your household income must be at or below $2,901/month for an individual or $5,802/month for a married couple.

asset

Meet Asset Requirements

In addition to income requirements, ALTCS also has asset requirements. Your total countable assets must be below a certain limit in order to qualify for coverage. In the state of Arizona, this is around $2,000 for an individual and $30,000 for a married couple.

economic security

Ensure Economic Security

Economic security is important for everyone, but is especially crucial for those who are unable to work due to age or disability. ALTCS can provide the stability, security, and peace of mind that comes with knowing you have access to quality health care.

If you think you may be eligible for ALTCS, we encourage you to apply. The sooner you do, the sooner you can get the coverage and care you need. Assisted living facilities and long-term care can be very expensive, and without Medicaid coverage, you may have to pay for care out-of-pocket.
